Cube Portal – I built a cube status web portal in ASP.NET MVC that displays the online and last processed date time of reporting cubes as well as the ETL logging information and status. Using the SQL logging system I developed.
This was highly useful for Support and Devs and Managers to see and to be able to quickly check the status of the OLAP cubes and the associated ETL.
Why wait for your users to tell you the cube or ETL is down?
Using this you can see problems as they occur...
Much better to be able to say when users call with problems:
"Yes, I'm already see and am working on the solution..."
The users then know that you're really on top of things...
And they greatly appreciate it!
And it looks really good to management too!
